I. Background
Arman Website was initially designed in 2002 and launched later online
in 2003, focusing on
Afghanistan issues. The main
objective for running such
a website was
preparing and publishing useful information
online with a closer look at Afghanistans
traditionally and historically ragged
profile in the world, by taking
initiatives in an alternative
approach and with different inspiration in social, cultural,
historical and educational spheres. We know that
this is the age of communication and media, the age of
information technology, the age of international data
transfer, the age of satellite global shadow and the age of
the hegemony of global Internet governance! Therefore, nobody and
no country- even an Afghanistan under the sovereignty of
Taliban!- would remain isolated
from the growing integrated global community.
Arman website
has tried much to connect and share Afghans views and
opinions with others in both national and international
levels and on world and
regional shared issues and problems, as well as it has left
a profound impact of positive change in the negative minds
and attitudes of others towards Afghan people; particularly
the neighboring countries and the Persian speaking people, as well as on
intellectual grounds of thinking. There are non-Afghan writers
in our columnists list that have shared their views and
writings with Afghan intellectuals in different areas and subjects
particularly in the critical areas and categories
of: thoughts and philosophy, international and regional
issues and literary works. Therefore, a number of our
writers com from non-Afghan nationalities and, so, they are
all welcome! The website has successively been developed into
a
fully informational and
discussion forum since its beginning in 2002 and is open
to all who tend to publish articles, essays, comments and
books on this site- regardless of ethnic, religious and
social origins. The website has got a
sub-title "Afghan Freelance Writers Club" which means that
it gives "Freelance Writers"
and the young authors a chance that their
works be published and viewed by approximately
40,000 visitors per month. The
website has been confirmed both nationally and
internationally as one of the
leading in-depth and mostly
popular online
civil portals of Afghanistan, backed up by
kindly and friendly writers and readers.
II.
Objectives and Priorities
Arman
website is related to none of political parties and tribal
groups and initially, dose not oppose or advocate any of the
past and existing military-political circles and factions in
Afghanistan. The website is merely informative, focusing on academic
measures and activities. The principal objective of the site
is not creating just endless
"journalistic
conflicts and uproars". The main goal and priority is promoting academic
motives and activities among intellectuals and in public
debates; And
we welcome all diverse views and comments just in this
regard. Admin of the
site will
be very glad to receive well-performed articles
(particularly from students) on subjects such as: Law, Human
Rights, Philosophy and Thinking, Politics, Economics,
History, Religion, Social, Cultural, Literary analysis and
the current situation in Afghanistan, the region and the
world. Analysis, researches, interviews and reports from the
perspective of social justice, the rule of law, civil
society building and promotion of human rights is deeply
welcome. The website
insists on and tries much to expand the concept of peace and
the conception of justice
instead of war and conflict among
Afghan intellectual and educated circles. As foresaid
in above, this website concentrates on analytic views and academic
works, preferably, on Afghanistan and the related issues.
Although, it has a news section fetching fresh news from
external sources each hour, the site is not a news source
web.
Therefore, if
analytic comments and reports represent more different views, circles
and groups and can promote peace and rationalization among
different Afghan ethnic groups through reading, processing
and debating materials, then, it would certainly
guarantee the goals and priorities of the website.
